Week 6/18/2018-6/24/2018

NOTE: See my guide on how to apply planetary aspects to your own experience through your natal astrology here.

Tuesday 6/19/2018 12:42:28pm – Mercury in Cancer trine Jupiter in Scorpio (14d 0m)

Symbols: Mercury (Charubel) – A man, standing before an audience, with all the paraphernalia of a juggler; Jupiter (La Volasfera) – Two men seated at a table with beakers of wine before them

Mercury, symbol of the logical mind, is in harmony with Jupiter, representing the higher or spiritual mind. Mercury is strong at this degree, as he is in both his own face and his own term. Here, Mercury has the magical ability to give voice to virtually anything that is needed or desired, and can speak to those desires that are known and openly saught as well as those that are secret or perhaps even buried. Any meeting between friends or lovers will have the benefit of joyous conversation that can go many ways, and if taken to the realms of philosophy, spirituality or other complex subjects, will help along the growth of many seeds of thought. Since the faculty of speech is so enchanted with this aspect, it is well advised to direct this power to beneficent ends, as it could be tempting to bend the truth or the sake of maintaining a good time or winning someone to our own point of view. A little embellishment may be ok in the arena of storytelling and motivational speaking, but take care not to verbally paint yourself into a corner. This aspect is excellent for planning a conversation with a person or a group that has the benefit of knowledge, experience, and points of view from several different areas of life, so that everyone’s minds grow and are able to travel far.

Wednesday 6/20/2018 8:58:23pm – Mercury in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces (16d 29m)

Mercury (Sabian) – The Unfoldment Of Multilevel Potentialities Issuing From An Original Germ; Neptune (Sabian) – An Easter promenade. Keyword: Celebration

After having met Jupiter in the aspect that perfected the day bofore, Mercury now closes a Grand Trine configuration in this next trine with Neptune. The combination of Jupiter and Neptune is pure magic, manifesting dreams and dissolving fears and obstacles quickly and cleanly if we are able to tap fully into their combined potential. The necessary and often missing element is a properly prepared space for the manifestation to occur. Mercury, although light and airy and mostly concerned with the mental realm, is also the symbol of logic, and in relation to these two planets, he is able to pull all of that infinite potential from the heavens (Jupiter) and the seas (Neptune) and form some linear, sensible ideas out of what those realms have to offer. With Mercury in Cancer, this is most likely going to occur in the arena of home and family. We are able to give a clear and confident voice to our own needs and the needs of those dear to us, and we have a far reaching vision of the best and quickest ways to bring what is needed into our lives. While this strong, inspired vision is present, think, speak, and write the poetry and spells that will invest your places of comfort and rest with the beauty and wonder that will inspire you to reach for the stars when you step out into the world.

Thursday 6/21/2018 9:53:50am – Venus in Leo opposition Mars in Aquarius (9d 3m)

Symbols: Venus (La Volasfera) – An oak tree broken by the wind, and beneath is the skeleton of some dead creature; Mars (Kosminksy) – A woman, blind and in chains, in a magnificent and brilliantly lighted room.

The current Venus-Mars synodic cycle began in the second face of Virgo, where there is a great deal of attention focused on creating and following the correct process needed for the absolute highest quality of output. Now that the two planets have reached the opposition, the fruits of labor are ready to be harvested. Leo and Aquarius form the axis of “star power” in the zodiac, bringing forth personalities and situations that make people or objects of attention stand out and be noticed. In a cycle that began with a strong emphasis on perfection, both planets now become overly concerned with the flaws and errors present in what they have brought forth. It is human nature to strive for perfection, or at least what we perceive to be perfection for the tasks and creations we put our work into. Yet even where finely crafted pieces of art are concerned, you will hear many artists say that they have fallen short of the ideal that they had in mind when they started. Of course, the average observer of that piece of art is hard pressed to identify any faults, which are only visible to the creator and, perhaps, to other experts in the craft. With this aspect, we see a fault or problem, which may be in ourselves, in a relationship, in a project, or in a creation of ours, and we may be tempted to deal improperly with whatever the fault or problem is. Where projects are concerned, it may be necessary to start over if that is an option. If there is a presentation or unveiling at hand, it may be necessary to move forward and do what one can with the final product. With relationships, it may be time to be genuine and open up about issues that have been concealed or deliberately looked beyond. The key to the best use of this rather uneasy aspect is to observe shortcomings and even celebrate them if possible. acknowledging that the combination of harmonious and discordant features make all people and things fascinating and unique.

Friday 6/22/2018 10:57:41pm– Sun in Cancer sextile Uranus in Taurus (1d 45m)

Symbols: Sun (Sabian) – A Man On A Magic Carpet Hovers Over A Large Area Of Land; Uranus (Sabian) – An electrical storm. Keyword: Transformation

This Sun-Uranus synodic cycle began in the last degree of Aries, and as such, seeks to build bridges to new beginnings and adventures for the whole of mankind through the reworking of collective mental structures (read here). The Sun at this position of Cancer is warming and fertilizing; it provides the energetic resources that are needed in order for something to get through conception and first sprouting, which can be so perilous as nature and circumstance pick and choose what stays and what goes. There is a breath of fresh air and a desire to try something new, but there is a healthy amount of pause and caution as well. With the Sun in a Water sign and Uranus in an Earth sign, the rebelliousness and drive for freedom and individuality normally experienced with this aspect does not have the nervous trigger finger quality that it would have in signs that tend to be more impulsive. The reflection of this aspect will find you thinking about how small changes to our everyday routine, both at work and at home, will make you feel more lively, bringing in the spirit of summer. If you’re planning a night out, try something spontaneous or outside of your comfort zone – you’ll most likely be glad that you did.

Saturday 6/23/2018 2:26:24am – Mercury in Cancer opposition Pluto in Capricorn (20d 29m)

Symbols: Mercury (Sabian) – A prima donna singing. Keyword: Excellence; Pluto (La Volasfera) – An ancient hieroglyphic manuscript with a retort and crucible upon it

As this synodic cycle reaches its climax with the opposition, Mercury, having gained access to Pluto’s underworld domain, is able to use his considerable talent for bargaining and bartering to carry an impressive array of gifts into the light of day. Here, we are reminded of the many ways in which we are rich, be it in material or immaterial ways, and how we can use that wealth to facilitate tranformation and evolution for self and others. The treasures of Pluto may pour forth for any that are willing to accept them with this opposition, but we must remember that with all movement in the material world, there is also something unseen happening as well, for whenever something changes hands, the act of exchange carries energy and power with it. There will be some sort of exchange when this aspect perfects, be it material, mental, or verbal, and we have an opportunity to recognize the deeper significance of the act of this exchange, which will give extra strength to subsequent actions. The person, object or event that comes into our lives has the potential to change us forever. The question is whether we will seize the opportunity and consciously direct the experience, even if on the surface it currently appears that has been received is unlikely to be in our favor.
